I remember when these came out they got the customary GW or maybe GP editors pick gold award or whatever. I wanted one real bad but didn't have the internet to order and ended up going with what i could find local, the Boss megaD and an Ibanez smashbox. I had completely forgot about the silver dragon until you just mentioned it. I still use GHS strings on a few guitars.

I had the same issues with the micro Metal Muff I've got in Craigslist right now, and I’ve hated the demos I’ve seen of the Fullbore. For what you’re looking for, I’d recommend tracking down a used Blackstar DistX. It will sound much more amp-like and organic than the pedals you’ve mentioned so far.

Also something to think about is that the Wampler's used prices are bound to come down some due to their growing popularity. I mean with many more new units hitting the market there'e going to be a lot more coming up for sale used. Even great pedals can't stop guys from their flipping addictions.

I'm adding my vote for the Suhr Riot.
They can be found used for not much more than some of the pedals you've mentioned. I bought mine for $155CAD plus shipping.

I thought i would do a little update on the micro muff i bought. I found out this pedal usable for black metal, not so much for any other stuff. But it somehow works for what i am doing right now, i needed it for a few recordings. I got used to the sound too a bit, so it's not that annoying anymore. Also i found out it sounds better with emgs, they just cut through a mix better. I am backing off the distortion knob, and it sounds more defined that way. I found out top boost functions usable to get that cold black metal sound. But i am not looking for black metal sound, so i'll be checking out more smooth pedals, i watched rewievs of Digitech Hardwire Metal, and i liked the sound, so i might try this one.

I had a Biyang Metal-end and it does kick ass and offers lots of tweaking and speaker simulation
