Good replacement for a Epip Sheraton 2 JAZZ

Okay, I like the pickups in this guitar..(Epiphone Sheraton 2) but there not awesome. I want to keep my neck pickup (nice full sound) but my bridge pickup has got to go. It is way too week, both playing clean and distorted.. I want something that is powerfull enough to play System of Down kind of stuff (plus some speed metal) but then again I also want to somthing calm when it is clean (dont want any distortion while playing clean....) Anyone have any suggestions?

id say a jb might be a good choice. anything hotter than that and you have loads of feedback problems and a pretty nasty clean tone.

that guitar probably isnt the best choice for speed metal since semi hollow guitars tend to be more prone to feedback with lots of gain

the SOAD sound would most likely be a result of the amplifier's sound and gain......i think the guitarist uses/used Duncan Pearly Gates pickups, which are not high output

I agree with Jeremy. That semi might not be perfect for metal & SOD type of music. That being said, a Custom 5 would beef up the bridge slot. I would personally swap the neck pickup too. It'll sound cheap next to a C5. I would go with a Pearly Gates paired with the C5. :burnout:

Okay, I believe im going to put a JB in the bridge and a Custom 5 in the neck....Is it okay if I put my pickup covers over them after I get them installed?

is a jb not too much output for the hollow body?

c5 in the neck isnt a good choice. itll be tubby and real boomy if you are going for the jb in the bridge a 59 in the neck will be a good match.
