Got a Jackson Soloist

So, I had my mind all set on a Charvel (see other thread) but that was until I noticed this Jackson Soloist hanging on the wall. New arrival. It wasn't there yesterday. So, I picked her up and plugged her into a 5150 half stack. Holy... It wasn't an easy choice, because I wanted both, but I got a good deal on this sucker for some blemishes on the back and side. The price was right and I really like this guitar. Plays amazing and sounds amazing! All I had to do was slightly lower the action. Pickups are hot and I enjoy them, so no need changing them. Here she is in all her Satin Red Swirl glory....

One can never have enough Jacksons. Congrats and enjoy!

Thanks! This Jackson kind of reminds me of my RG that's in my avatar except for the neck. Awesome neck but may take a while to get used to it cause it gets skinnier further down the neck you go. Basswood body is a plus. It's nice and it has quality pots as well. Happy with it.

I do like these pickups, but I am wondering how much difference it would make if I dropped in the JB/Jazz combo? Would it be even worth it? These pickups that are in it right now are very similar to the Distortion set, but with little less output and mids. Bass and treble are pretty close. Maybe get the Distortion set instead of the JB/Jazz if I do ever decide to change them?

Or go full out and active and put the EMG 81/85 set in? The choices... but I'm in no hurry.

I have not changed the pickups in any of my Jacksons. One has Duncan designed, but there rest are whatever Jackson is loading, and I agree - pretty similar to Diostortions. Enough so I don't feel the need to change them. Of course, I love me some Distortions!

However..if you do, may I suggest Red/Black zebra Full Shreds?
