Got Insomnia?

I'm teaching a little seminar this Saturday to a bunch of hypnotists. They want to learn how to use Audacity to record their hypnosis sessions...and they're paying me to tell them! So I decided I would provide the background music for them, you know...to feel like I actually earned the money for teaching.

Anyway, I recorded a 40 minute ambient snooze-fest.

Here's an edited version of it.

Re: Got Insomnia?

Just got back from teaching and I think it went very well. The people gave good feedback about the class. I may look into doing this sort of thing more often.

Re: Got Insomnia?

So, they are smart enough to know how hypnotise someone but they arent smart enough to figure out how to hit the record button in audacity?

Re: Got Insomnia?

Id be too afraid they couldnt bring me back.. My luck Id spend the rest of my life barking like a dog or something

Very cool good luck with your new venture! .......also nice mood music, I found myself nodding off.

Re: Got Insomnia?

I recorded a huge project of music like this recently to help sleep and relaxation- it was lots of fun. Came out to be over 14 hours of music.

Thanks everybody!

It's more like they are afraid to learn the tech and would rather have someone do it for them, or in this case show them how.

Pure myth. It's no different than the state of mind you're in when you are about to fall asleep or when you first wake up. Ever notice yourself zoning out in front of the T.V.? It's that state of mind when you become open to suggestion. However, nobody can make you do something you don't want to do...well, not without some serious effort (ref: isolation, sleep deprivation, and sensory overload).

People who go to a stage hypnotist's show are predisposed to see something happen. The guy on stage does some tests with the audience to see who responds to his suggestions and chooses them to come up as volunteers. Then he puts on a show of fat guys doing Elvis and old ladies acting like Marilynn Monroe or something.

What I do and the students I had do is more like getting people to change their habits with suggestions about stress relief or weight loss, etc. It wears off after a while, which makes repetition a key factor in changing habits.
