Got My Great Vox/Teese RMC Wah From Old Ghost

STRATDELUXER97

Stratoblaster Tone Meister
And it's great!
Came with the current RMC1 circuit board and true bypass..

I went ahead and added my buffered power supply board so I don't have to use batteries and also added an external "Q" pot...The wah also already had a Fulltone pot. I then changed 2 cap values on the board(The blue Xicons) to remove some of that excessive low end...I notice Teese uses these exact same Xicon blue poly caps in recent RMC1s....

The RMC1 is a pretty bassy, boosted wah,so I make some small changes in order to make my wahs versatile to use with any of my guitars...The RMC1 is built and tuned specifically for single coil players...Teese has the best inductors out there and this is a very vocal wah with lots of range..Doesn't get much better than this in a wah!

Thanks to Ron(Old Ghost)for such a clean(Like brand new) Vox 847..This wah looks great, but it sounds even better!

Thanks Ron....Great wah...Just so clean overall also...very happy with it...I had to make sure that my upgrades didn't cheapen an otherwise great looking wah inside and out...A Power supply is almost a must for any gigging musician...The "Q" pot is cool also,as it changes the sweep and the whole overall function of the wah...It's a subtle thing, but it works..

Cool....If you find your's to be too boosted or too bassy, contact me....I payed $120 shipped for the wah you see and I thought that was a great price...I also love the looks of the Vox treadle and the black bottom because it looks very "Jimi/Trowerish.....LOL My wah is like brand new and Old Ghost treated me very right on the wah..

It won't sound better than my own wahs, but it'll be just as good. :smack: LOL..Your's won't have the Teese inductor either, but it'll still be great with the Fulltone parts...I'm adding both the volume and a Q pot on your's....I didn't put the volume pot on this wah because the RMC is already boosted a bit above unity gain so I didn't see the need for it...

See Teese's RMC wah has an overall boosted tone,in that it's designed for single coils, has more bass,is darker, smoother, and has more output, and gain when you stomp it on....Problem is,once you use humbuckers, you're into some problems with muddy tone....Even with all I Mention though,it has great sweep...Curly loves his RMC1 and it's a great wah....Is it a vintage wah tone? Not really...

Teese's inductors are the best...Shame we can't buy them aftermarket anymore!

Lew,I went back and edited this post just so you'd know that I'd do everything I could to voice your wah as if it were my own...Of course this goes without saying, but just so you know!

Sounds good John. Just use your own excellant judgement.

I do want true bypass, volume pot on the side and battery eliminator.

Other that those requirements just tweak my new wah to your own tastes...they seem to be about the same as mine more often than not!

Lew....You've had some concerns with sweep and resonance issues and I'm knowing an external "Q" pot would solve all of that for you....As long as you don't mind the extra holes in your wah? You'd be able to sweep from Fulltone's 33k value,to Teese's 68k,and the 100k value of the old Clydes and your current modded 847 I did for you...You're hearing the differences in the resistance to the inductor...

True bypass, and a power supply are standard mods and a must on the 847s...The volume and Q pots will be added to give you all the extra versatility you'd ever need..

I'll get the wah all done up and let you know via an itemized list....

So far all I'm concerned with is the switch, pot, and inductor....I have an inductor and a fulltone switch....I May have to order another pot? I'm also waiting on another Mouser order which will be here on the 9th...This order has the Alpha 100k external pots for the wahs...We're also running head on into the holiday shipping slowings...

That's fine John...take as much time as you need. It's not like I'm short on wah wah pedals or anything! :laugh2: Lew
