Got some humming and crackling issues with new SH '59 and JB pups.

Just installed an SH-1N '59 neck and a SH-4 JB bridge in an Ibanez RG421FM and getting a bunch of hum and static varying with level of distortion. Old pups had no static or anything though. I didn't wire it for coil splits, so my wiring is as follows: SH-1N single braided cable to switch HOT and braid to volume pot casing. JB green and bare to volume pot casing, red and white tied together and taped, black to HOT on bridge side of the switch. I may add, it's a 5 way 3SWLSC switch. I've tested with a multimeter, everything seems to be in check. My last option now is to reflow the ground cables on the pot casings and maybe that solves it. Any thoughts? Appreciate it.

Yea id reflow the grounds. The one on the vol looks like it could be a bit better.
Beyond that make sure your string ground didnt break off.
Dont know seymours colors off head for JB but sounds right.
Personally id fold up that braided 59 lead and zip tie it.
I do know having grounds in too many places can cause groud loop problems and if that lead is touching multiple spots( more a for good measure thing)

With those ground have someone hold thr wires down with a screwdriver over sonething. Then dab your irons tip all around the joint till it starts to liquify to a silvery pool then quickly touch a hair more solder to it and get off it so the pot dont over heat.
Should look shinyish when done. If it looks dull gray its cold.

Trying all of this first thing tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it sorted, loving the sound but can't have a beehive accompanying recordings.
