Graphtech Ghost

Anyone use this? I'm about ready to order a swampash strat from Warmoth, and i was intending to use this as a piezo bridge. I'm also intrigued by the synth module, but as I don't have the setup to match just yet, I might add that later.

Re: Graphtech Ghost

It gets good reviews, and I love the modular approach. The only one that can compete is the RMC system, but that is more expensive, and not modular.

Re: Graphtech Ghost

i love the system - i've installed a couple in customer guitars and the results seem great
ask fatty or pushpin&poetry - they both got em

cheers

Re: Graphtech Ghost

I've also heard good things about it, but I decided to go with the LR Baggs system. The Baggs X-bridge is a complete bridge assembly, and you don't have the problem with wires sticking out and having to be run under the pickguard like you do with the Graphtech system. I'm in the process of installing it on my Strat project, which should be finished in the next week or two.

Re: Graphtech Ghost

if done properly, teh graphtec wires are invisible also - i typically drill holes into the base of the bridge (strat or tele) and hten drill a channel for htem to meet in the bridge humbucker route - its more work, but i don't like having wires running around my guitars either

Re: Graphtech Ghost

Thanks guys.

Looking at their site, it looks like you can part one out for a strat for around $240. I'm assuming that's USD. I don't know if you can get it cheaper elsewhere or not.

Re: Graphtech Ghost

Blueline is right, you can also drill holes in the bridge plate if you want to keep the wires hidden. As for the cost, I got a complete X-bridge system with the onboard preamp for $160. If cost is a major issue, you might want to look into the X-bridge, as the Graphtech system doesn't include the bridge.

Re: Graphtech Ghost

go to the graphtech website

btw - fatty has one in the mahogany tele i built him - ask him about it
and with the added price you get your choice of bridge and graphite saddles
not a bad upgrade
