Great difference between 0.047 and 0.022 tone cap?

Hi all!
I've a couple of guitar equipped with humbucker, 500k pots and 0.047 uf tone cap(an epiphone g400 vintage with 2 sd59 and 50's wiring, and a PRS santana se II all original except for the 50's wiring)
now..seems that the standard for humbucker is 0.022..there's a so great difference between these two with the tone pot wide open?

With the tone pot on 10 there is no difference. With the tone pot on zero the larger value cap (.049 mf) will be darker sounding.

Not true. The cap will still leak away some treble even at 10, and will leak more with an .047 than an .022. Unless it's a no-load pot or a pot modified with the nail polish trick.

There is a difference with the poti at 10. However, with a 500 Kohm poti it is barely, if at all audible.

It makes a difference as you turn down the poti.
