The Burny line was manufactured in the Fuji Gen Gakki factory, the same one that made the Ibanez models that are famously called "lawsuit".

Gibson didn't get in on the Japanese market directly until the mid-to-late nineties I believe with the "Orville" line.

I've been calling the Burny and Grecos "clones"; it's the best way to really describe them.
