"All tubes" come from the same places these days...Pretty much Russia...And other places....But: Groove Tubes charge more because they were the first company to really match tubes...I guess they ween out the crappy tubes and only match and sell the best of whats available around the world..GT also has been remaking the USA 6L6 tubes and that was a great stride for the tube amp guys....We have not made any tubes over here in the states since the 80s....

Right now I'm using GT12AX7M's in my 2204, and I'm real happy with them. The output tubes are GT EL34's as well. So for the time being, they work for me.

I've been using Groove Tubes for years. They do make a difference because of the matching system they use. Worth the extra money IMO

I'll only buy GTs when they're not a rebranded tube (e.g., 12AX7-M or 6L6-GE). I trust Lord Valve to check and match 'em more than I trust GT so I don't see a point in paying a premium when LV's gonna do the same checks anyway.

Exactly! "Branded" tubes are what the GT are....Take a Russian Sovtek tube and send it to GT and you get the GT branding on your more expensive GTs...

I've used all kinds of different brands of tubes from many different companies....In the 80's GT sold the EL34 Teslas which were the best EL34s money could buy...This was right after the German Siemans tubes were non-existant(Great tubes also)...I was buying the "exact" same Tesla branded tubes alot cheaper from "Audio Glassics"....Same exact tube, but one was stamped Audio Glassic and the more expensive ones marked GT....Were the AG tubes great....Heck yeah thet were!
