Re: GT-8 vs. Tonelab LE

i own a gt-8 and also had an se for a few weeks the se didnt cut it for me,i havent had a chance to try the le yet so i dont know.
the gt-8 is cool but it can take a while until you learn how to tweak it and get good tones.

Re: GT-8 vs. Tonelab LE

I prefer the Tonelab, I feel it's easier to get the sound you're looking for. The GT-8 is possibly a little better sounding, but a bit more involved to get your tone. IMO:firing:

Re: GT-8 vs. Tonelab LE

What happened to getting a Tube Zone or Crunch Box you wanted ? which was what, Thursday ?

Or what happened to getting the Emma FritzFrat or whatever the heck its called which was your flavor of the week Friday ?

I swear, if you put 1/10th of the effort you do into obsessing over always buying something new each day you'd be a pretty darn good player.

You seem to want a new guitar weekly, a new amp head bi weekly and a new pedal every other day. Have you not learned that you can't buy tone by now ?

Re: GT-8 vs. Tonelab LE

i picked the GT8... mostly because i have some of teh interesting ways you can hook it up to an amp..... it has ins and outs that allow you to place distortions before the preamp, and ins and outs to place time based FX's in an FX loop.... At least that is how it was explained to me!

Personally I enjoy the gear threads you start. I don't care if you can't buy tone. Some of the fun is in the getting there.
I learn something about new products everytime someone opens a new gear thread. I don't care if you change guitars and amps everyday, that is your business. i just hope you enjoy all the music you make. Heck I wish I could do that. Keep on keepin' on and lets make music....not war!! Peace.

thanks for that man, really. i truly appreciate your sentiments. i hope that i've been at least some small amount of help by sharing my gear experiences with the forum.

Re: GT-8 vs. Tonelab LE

i use a GT-Pro...I love the 2 amps at once idea, and the fact there are software editors available. Never tried the Vox, but the GT series seriously tweakable. I like that sort of thing, but some guitarists hate it.

Re: GT-8 vs. Tonelab LE

I like the vox because I like the tone from the whole valvetronix thing (mainlt because it almost flawlessly emulates VOX tones and Roland/BOSS products can't seem to get that right) but I don't have much experience with the Tonelab LE in particular or the GT-8.

Re: GT-8 vs. Tonelab LE

It depends on how you'll use them, if you use only the modulation/delay, I think GT-8 is more suitable, with lots of features.. bla.. bla..bla.. but if you're going to use it as main drive, i prefer the Vox, it sounds light years ahead of GT-8 IMO..
