To any who would have concerns about that, I would say that I've owned 4 Cordoba flamenco guitars and all were awesome. I still own the FCWE Gypsy Kings Reissue. Only reason that I sold the rest is that I stopped gigging my new-flamenco originals and went back to playing rock last year.

Hmm, interesting indeed.
I quite like the look of the Master series guitars Cordoba does, particularly the Torres model. Don't know what the regular guitars are like.

What happened is the facility that where Guild guitars were made closed down (they shared the building with another company). My question is are they going to continue to make the Guild electric models, as Cordoba seems to only make acoustics?. Maybe they'll get another company to make the electrics, and Cordoba will make the acoustic ones, but it wasn't clear from the announcement.

Guild may just give up on acoustics all together, or they'll all come out of Korea, China, etc. Regardless, it's good news for the brand. It's like someone taking ownership of Buick and making them proper again after 50 years.

Proof is in the pudding, as they say. I'd love to try one, of course. There's a good little music shop where I live which is a big Lowden stockist (most comprehensive in the UK, I think), so swanky guitars would be at home

That's actually an interesting point to the Guild divestiture. We've only really seen Fender acquire these companies, and therefore existing dealers have to begin working with Fender. So does Guild have a dealer network, or do those accounts all belong to Fender? Like, what happens if you're a Guild dealer at the moment? It's going to be fun to watch how it plays out. I wish them well. The Cordoba factory is a few blocks from the Larrivee factory where I make the Falbos, and they're here a lot. Maybe I'll catch some early glimpses of what's to come.
BTW the first iteration of this design, many years ago, was a nylon string. It is excellent and I will launch the Classical as I have time, or if I get an order I will push it to the front.

Interesting; as a predominantly classical player on the acoustic end of things, I'm very curious. As you no doubt know, classical players are always struggling for volume, power etc. (especially in an orchestral setting) while maintaining tone. The lattice braced guitars achieve this to an extent, but tonally they can vary - I've heard some that are wonderful, others that are pretty meh. Invariably builders use a cedar top for this type because spruce would sound to harsh, so there's that restriction. You design seems to achieve many of these things while using the traditional format, so, there's potential for appeal - the lattice guitars polarize opinion a good deal, either on principle or for other reasons, such as the ones I mentioned.
