Guitar Center has it's moments..

Today was the big Memorial Day sale thing..doors opened at 8:00 and I was there at 8:15...place was pretty busy already.

Most everthing in the store was on sale, some stuff for really good prices and pretty much everything was at least 10% off.

Biggest baddest deal of the day?

Brand new Gibson R7 for $1749.00

I *was* gonna play it but..ermmm...something else...cough...caught my eye and that was all she wrote. When I went up to the counter to pay for my stuff, I noticed the r7 was gone off the wall. Then I noticed the guy in front of me at the counter was buying it. I got to take a decent look at it and we chatted a little bit about Historics in general..nice guy and he got a HELLUVA deal. Prolly a good thing I didn't get a chance to play it :laugh2:

Pics soon of *my* acquisition :bigthumb:

i bet you bought 4 daisy rock guitars...right?

you know, as much of a gear junky as i am i have NEVER been to one of the GC memorial day sales. i think i've just become too picky for factory built guitars now unless i mod the heck out of them.

I did not plan on buying a guitar today actually. I went to get some strings, and check out an OD pedal

Got the strings...they were just attached to a bunch of wood and metal :D

There was jack going on from my standpoint at the Denver Guitarget. :(

There was nothing like the 1400 PRS Singlecut I passed on a few years ago. :smack:

Re: Guitar Center has it's moments..

Well, I'm one of the idiots that lined up early this morning at GC, and I walked away with a totally beautiful 2005 R8 Plaintop Historic LP in the Washed Cherry finish. Nice fat neck that's more comfortable to play than I thought it would be. Let's just say that the price was EXTREMELY comfortable, too. It needs some touch-up on the nut (typical Gibson!), but it plays very nicely, sounds great and rings like a bell acoustically. I've wanted a Historic for about six years; only thing is--now I'm sorry I waited so long!

Also managed to grab a Peterson Strobostomp and a Furman Rack Conditioner at blow out prices, so today was a REALLY good day!
