Guitar Center Score! Parker Nitefly! $499!

Xeromus

Tone Ninja
So I go in guitar center and in the used section is a pearl white Parker Nitefly. Loaded with Piezo bridge and all. Super clean, $499 with a hard case. Do you think I made a wise purchase? They have a 30-day satifaction guarantee and I can still take it back. I'll post a picture in a little bit.

some features: Dimarzio pickups, Fishman piezo, stainless steel frets, composite fretboard, mahogany neck, swamp ash body, sperzel locking tuners, etc.

This guitar seemed to have everything I wanted in an instrument. It's like it was put there for me, cheesy but cool.

The 30 day policy is a beautiful thing. Return it every 28 days, and you've got a new toy once a month. After awhile they put you on a list of dweebs that can't return gear......yep, I'm on that list. LOL

I think I might just keep this one, I really like the way it's built and the features. It's true that they build them pretty flawlessly. I've never seen a neck or fretwork this perfect on a guitar.

I have a Parker Nitefly SA too. It's one of the early issues though.

It's a good guitar and fit me very well at the time. I'm thinking about (and will probably wind up) selling it soon however, since it's temperamental and doesn't give me what my SG can give me as far as playability and tone.

I got mine used for around $500 too, so I'd say it's a good deal.

Re: Guitar Center Score! Parker Nitefly! $499!

although I just noticed they gave me the wrong trem bar and charged me for the FREE case. The usual guitar center idiocy. So tomorrow I'll go out there and if they don't comply I'll have to make a little scene.

I used to do that at Guitar Center... I went through like 25 guitars in 6 months :D It got to the point where I didn't even play them before I took them home.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family.

I believe you made an extremely good score. In my totally unbiased opinion, of course.

if not mistaken, that doesnt apply to used gear. i could be wrong however....

looks like a decent guitar, though. good score.

I have an SA Nightfly in red and I have the exact same strap as you on it. Classic. You got a good price, especially with the hardcase.

I think it's a nice guitar. The neck is sweet and the frets are great. The sperzels are nice and I think you can swap pickups easily on the Nightflys.

I also scored a used Fly in minty condition for $1,000 at guitar center about four months ago. They're both sweet guitars. They may increase in value now that Parker sold out to Washburn. They are bound to change things. I've seen lots of pro's playing Pakers. I saw a guy on the Jazz channel play smoking acoustic blues with a Parker fly. It was funny to see, because it sounded just like an acoustic, but it's an electric. :cool3:
