Hi dudes ... i got in a Metallca cover band now ... and i would like to know wich guitars are good for metallica tone ?

they are right for the most part...but which part(s) are you playing? James' or Kirk's? kirk's guitars tend to be alder with two EMG 81 pickups (neck and bridge) and a floyd rose trem. James uses mahogeny guitars most of the time, explorers, flying V's etc with a fixed bridge and and EMG 81 in the bridge and an EMG 60 in the neck. so depending on whose parts your playing will gear you towards which guitar and pickup combo to go with if you want to get the sound right on.

Wow dudes thats hard .. cause im mainly between James and Kirk ... cause i play james rythym ... and then solo like kirk .. while the other dude ... does the james rythym part while i solo ... so how about something like an Epiphone Custom ? with the emg ?

well if your doing any of kirk's solos you're bound to need a floyd rose (and a wah pedal b/c he loves that thing lol) so i say get something with a Mahogany body (for a bit fatter tone for rythm work) with a floyd rose and EMG 81 in the bridge and a 60 in the neck. that way you have all bases covered i would think. I have just that guitar actually i use for when i play metallica covers and other metal that needs a floyd. it's an ibanez S470 with EMG's in it (i actually have an 85 in the neck though). not a high dollar guitar but it sounds killer with the EMGs and through a mesa can pretty much nail Metallica tone. the only problem you may have with the S470 is that it's only 22 frets and kirk tends to go to 24 sometimes (and even off the board onto the neck pickup in the puppets solo). what price range are you looking in, that way it will be easier to find a guitar that "fits".

I would suggest a LTD MH 400 or a EC400 bother are pretty nice guitars and already come with EMG 81s all you have to do is switch out the neck pup for a 60 or something. The MH400 comes with a Rose too.
