I'm looking for a guitar make from the mid to late 1990's. One was reviewed in 'Guitarist' Magazine around 1997 it was a gold speckle finish. I've had a look but don't seem to have that magazine. At Glastonbury 1997 Beth Gibbons of Portishead played a black version of this same guitar. However on the 'Live NYC' video she plays a Gretsch.
The guitar was by a European or Scandinavian builder and was an offset shape it had oval pickups which had a grill style cover and the head was minimal. Sortof like a Tele head with all the curves chopped off. It bugs me that I can't remember what this guitar is, or if it is any good. Plus all the video's of Portishead I can find on You Tube don't show Beth playing guitar (she only ever played on one or two). It could be a Flying Finn but I don't think that it is as I am sure that I would have rememberd the silly name.
