I am not so sure this will work without major intonation problems. You'd have to make sure to measure from the nut to the bridge, and it would be difficult to do without the parts in front of you. Even off 1/16" will cause out of tune notes.

It could cost a lot to find someone who would build a neck to fit that pocket correctly. Once it's fitted into the pocket, there's a good chance you would have to move the bridge.

If you're building the neck from scratch, it's easy to build it to the proper scale and fret count that would make it unnecessary to move the bridge.

I designed a 25" scale neck that fits on a Strat. Took me an afternoon to draw up. Fairly certain any competent luthier could do the same and build it with no surprises.

If you are using a different style bridge, it doesn't matter if you are moving it. Use either scale, but considering the low value of the parts you are using, I suggest modifying an existing neck. The first issue I expect will be the long neck pocket; most Fender style necks will not have as long of a pocket, so you will either have extra space under the neck you can fill or you can use a neck that fits.

Cheapest, I suggest a Rondo neck or a Squier Bronco. The pocket is long. You may need to put wood under between the body, as the pocket seems deeper than a Fender. Fill the tuner holes and drill for smaller ones.

More expensive, you could use a DC Kunkle conversion neck.

In either instance, the bridge will not use the same route as the original bass bridge.

I have made a few baritones similar to this. You can use Bass VI strings or baritone based on tuning.
