Guitar port foot switch

hi, i have a guitar port and i really like the sound of it and everything but i think that its a little inconvinient that it doesn't have a footswitch..then iw as looking around at the plugs that line 6 footswitches plugged into and they looked VERY similar to LAN plugs... do you think i'll be able to plug a footswitch into my computer and have as a working footswitch? has anyone tried this..??

nuni said something about a guy using a MIDI footswitch, to switch between the presets on a guitar port, but said he doesnt have a clue how he pulled it off

and no, no conventional footswitch will work with the computer

Line 6 footswitch cables ARE just CAT5 cables, but I don't see how hooking it to your computer would accomplish anything...
