Guitar String/Neck Issue.

Hi, guys!
I have this issue on my guitar. It's a LP Junior, and the wound of the 4th String "breaks". It goes from 7th Fret to the 10th.
I'm thinking that it may be an issue in the setup of the bridge or tuss rod, or so. I dont really have another electric guitar to check this at the moment, but so far I haven't played or owned any with this issue, even with the same kind of strings (this is the 3rd set, and all had the same).

It's quite funny because that string have never get broken, usually the 6th or 5th string are the ones that gets broken.
Anyway, if anyone could help me to indetify the issue would be awesome! But still I actually need to take it to my luthier for a set up, tough.

Here's a pic:

Re: Guitar String/Neck Issue.

You need to edit the spelling, it's hard to tell what you're trying to ask.

I'm sorry, not native english speaker here.
What I'm trying to say is, my guitar get's the D string's wound separated from the wire (as shown in the picture above).
This is the 3rd set of guitar strings the guitar've since I got it. It happens ONLY in the D string, and it goes from the 7th Fret to the 10th.

I've never experienced this with any other guitars I've played or owned. But still, the guitar doesn't breaks.
I just wanna know if is there any issue and if could be fix, or if basically I just have to deal with it.

Re: Guitar String/Neck Issue.

I've had that issue before. I believe that it had to do with my playing in similar keys with a lot of bending in the same area. Has happened with a few good brand's of strings. It's more often been a problem with cheaper acoustic strings and little to do with my playing. If you don't think that may be your issue, it could be those frets need polishing to remove whatever burr may be present.

I've never seen that, or had it happen to me, but I agree with other posters, those frets look like they should be looked at, both from what's happening to your D string on multiple frets, and also the wear pattern beneath the low E and A strings.

To my eyes, it's not just polishing but recrowning that's needed.

Yep, lots of file marks on those frets. Get them seen to and I think the issue will not be seen again.

Re: Guitar String/Neck Issue.

The guitar is quite old, around 20 years old, but probably the previous owner(s) didn't had that checked.
Thanks for the replies. I'll put it under maintenence.

Now that I actually saw the pic I believe it's a matter of a good fret job.

Same here, I've never had that happen before....

Its definitely from repitition, as you can see in the pictures the Low E is also getting thin in those same areas and the frets are a tell tale sign of that. Those are some very deep grooves, so I agree with a fret leveling/recrowning... Stainless frets seem like they would be what you'd really want.

Prior to seeing the pics I was thinking faulty strings to be honest, but that's not the case as others have had the same problem.
