guitar wiring gauge?

Not sure if this is the "right" forum for this question, but I'll ask it here. I need to do some wiring on my guitar (toggle switch, input jack, etc.). What gauge wire should I be using? Thanks.

Since pickups are wound with 40ish gauge you'd be able to use 24-18 no problem. If in doubt walk into Radio Shack with a piece of your wire and match it up.

TBH i've never noticed a difference! the extremes will have a bit of influence, but the quality of the solder joints makes more of a change from what i've seen..

if the core is between 0.5mm and 1.5mm in diameter, i wouldn't worry too much about it
