Guitar with 3 band eq?

I have a schecter corsair(335/339 style) with 2 vol/2 tone. I don't get too wrapped up in manipulating knobs a lot. At most I will just bring the volume back a little bit if I want a little less grit. I got to thinking(run away now), what about an active and possibly buffered 3 band eq built into the guitar. Wire it up so the neck volume is now a master volume, and then have the other 3 knobs function for hi/mid/lo controls. Maybe not terribly practical, but might be super cool, which is what really matter anyway, right?

Thought? Experience? Feasibility? Does something like this already exist for les paul/335/tele deluxe style setups?

Ovation tried it on one variant of their Magnum bass guitar.

One of the old Donald Brosnac books illustrates something like that. A pair of old MXR graphic EQ pedal circuit boards were installed from the rear of the guitar, leaving just the twelve slider controls showing through the top.
