Guitarport?

Would this be the easiest way to record electric guitar? I'm thinking of getting one just to do some very basic recording with. Is it enough to do basic recording, with just the guitarport plugged into the pc? Do I need special software/other hardware? Is software included? What is your experience with the guitarport? Pros - cons? I'm doing some research both on here and on harmony central, but would still appreciate any input I can get. :arms:

Re: Guitarport?

You still need a program to record with.

Theres a whole load of affordable ones, other members can advice you as to which if you state a budget.

Check the link in my sig for clips, all of them are the port. Davey uses one also, as well as a few other guys who I've forgotten their user names. I think KMCguitars and Hetfieldrules ?

It sounds great for the money imo, and if you pick it up s/h even better.

Re: Guitarport?

Thanks for the input nuntius, do you know if there are any free or cheap programs that are reasonably easy to use for someone who knows squat about recording?

Go to the guitarport website. They just added some more software to
add on to the GP. I'm not sure if it's avilable yet? But they have some recording software in the works,And i think it's reasonably Priced?

Re: Guitarport?

mine is broken :blackeye:no idea why it happened (probably a power surge from my POS computer.

but, i couldnt be happier with it. my tone rules! people say it's too buzzy and processed, but in the mix, youc an fool people enough so they dont think it's the GP

i used cool edit pro. but then they merged with adobe and i wasnt going to get it... then cubase SX .. too damn complicated for me. now i got tracktion and used it a little and it's pretty good. still miss the ability to edit from the cool edit
