for some laughs, please share some of the funny offers you've probably been flooded with.

I've only had a handful of emails about them. Most just wanting pics or wanting to know a price. I had one guy that wanted to know if I would take a Martin DXM something or another for the Custom. Had a couple of dealers email me but didn't make a cash offer, just wanted to know what I was looking for.

As for trade prices, I'm going to be in the $2200 to $2500 range on the Custom, $1700 or $1800 on the Aqua and around $1400 to $1600 on the Classic. From all the research I've done online about the amp, it should be in the $700 to $900 range according to eBay and a few other sites. I based my other prices on the emails I got from Gruhns and Elderly that they said they would price them at on consignment.

I've seen a few D-42's in the $3k to $3500 range and that's what I'm trying to hold out for. I'm hoping I can trade the Custom on one and throw in a few hundred to a grand on it and keep the other 2 and amp to try and parlay into a Gibson mandolin.

I found a guy in a tight with a 70 model D-41 in nice shape that's wanting $2200 for it. Not sure if it has the big bluegrassy sound I am looking for or not, but I talked to him and he's not into electrics so no trades there. I am planning on meeting him this weekend and if it sounds like I want, I will probably just outright buy it and still try to find a D-42 later to trade for (I dig the snowflake inlays and forward shifted bracing).

I was a fool for selling my Martins back when I was married and went to buy a house. I had a 67 D-35, a 62 D-18, a 94 HD-28 custom with Brazilian, a 77 D-35 and an 89 D-28 with 45 style headstock inlay and Brazilian. I also had an 82 model Gibson F5-L. Back then those Brazilian Martins were only bringing in the $2k to $3k range. I can't find one now under $6k.

I just got an email from a guy that wanted to know if I would trade one of the LP's for old house plans he had drawn.

The bad part is as far as serious cash offers, Elderly Music has offered more than any individuals.

Ahh, sellers regret. Make sure you won't feel the same way after selling these ones. But it sounds like you are into those acoustics, so more power to ya.
