Guitars Sure Do Look Purdy Out In The Sunlight!!

I was bored today and thought I'd take some pics of my guitars out in the sunlight. I've only done that one other time and it was kinda cloudy so those pics came out lookin like crap. All the pics I've ever taken of my guitars have always been inside of my house with every light in the room on and pointed at the guitars.. I realized after taking these pics today just how much the sunlight brings out a guitars true colors, flame, quilt, imperfections, etc, etc... It kinda makes one wonder why all of the Guitar companies don't take pictures of their guitars outside. I think it makes for a better representation of what the guitars truly look like.

Not to mention that that Tennessee grass is such a purty backdrop. ;)

WOW!

The depth of the first one is incredible...looks like a sea.

The flamed LP looks nice.

And may I say your yard looks quite well-kept as well!

LOL....I'm not sure what I'm more proud of...my yard or guitars...lol. I take alot of pride in my yard and trying to keep it the best looking one in the neighborhood.

Sure you have enough Les Pauls there Jolly?

I have always struggled to get good photos of my guitars. The flash always seems to reflect and wash out the grain. Outside has worked better but reflections can still be a problem. I guess that is why there are professional photographers

I'd like to see yalls pics as well. I know Scott has some really great pics of his guitars outside in the sunlight. So what's the deal with red guitars? How come they're the hardest color to get the flame to show thru on? I've never been able to figure that one out.

I think you're the only person that's ever noticed that...lol.

I've been thinking of taking all my guitars outside and lining them up for some nice pictures......then I walk outside, see about 3 neighbors who don't have jobs or this month's rent & bills........I walk back inside, and forget about it!

I thought I was original when I did that to my LP Standard. It makes the guitar look much better IMHO :laugh2:
