Gus G Fire AHB-11s possibility of HSH wiring?

Bonjour everyone, I'm Ben from France, I'm stuck on a wiring , I have here on the bench a HSH style guitar (French Lag Rockline made in France, "strat like", but 1volume , 1 tone , 5way switch), my customer asked me to set up in it the great GUS G Fire set of humbuckers(blackouts), and he wishes to add in the middle position a single pickup: AS-1n Hot strat (blackouts), is it technically possible? thank you so much for your kind help, answers, diagram, drawing and concern ! Cheers !!!

Best Regards,

Ben

Yes but you gotta be a bit careful. The gus G system uses 2 passive pickups with modular active preamp. The AS1N is a self contained active pickup. You would not want to nor would it be feasible to run the AS1 through the preamp. The preamp is only set up to accept 2 4 conductor pups. In theory you run the outputs of the preamp to their respective lugs on the switch then wire in the AS1 on its own to the middle lugs. You can use the power and the ground on the blackouts preamp for the AS1.

Thank you for your answer Edgecrusher ! Also I may forgot to say it is a 5way strat style switch, 1 volume 1 tone configuration, I have no clue if the voltage of the battery can damage somethin'(preamp) if I do something wrong !? I can simplify by replacing the 5way switch by a 3way switch strat switch !

Thanks again !

Ben

Nah you wont hurt anything with the voltage. The 5 way is fine. As long as he doesnt want to split the humbuckers then it gets a little complicated.
