Gutting Active Ibanez bass, help

Ok, Lewguitar convinced me that the Antiquity II line was real quality, so my dad also got a good idea. He has an active Ibanez Soundgear 700 that has 2 pickups-a p-bass style PU in the neck, and 1 Jazz stlye PU in the Bridge. All the electronics wiring and pots will be thrown out for a 4 250k pot configuration (2 volume, 2 tone). Just wanted to know if anyone has done this before, and if i would encounter any issues.

Not a bass player but i think a P&J passive would be a better route.
