H-S-H Floyd Strat - Sat Nite Specials?

Wanting to bounce some ideas off you guys and let’s see what sticks. I have a mid 80’s Fender MIJ Stratocaster with a Floyd Rose I’m enjoying. Except I want to mod it to be an H-S-H configuration.

It’s an Alder body with Rosewood fretboard and I’m wanting to wire it with a 5 way super switch.
Position 1 - Full Neck Humbucker
Position 2 - Neck HB slug coil + Middle Pickup
Position 3 - Middle Single Coil
Position 4 - Middle Single Coil + Bridge HB slug coil
Position 5 - Full Bridge Humbucker

I’m considering the Saturday Night Special set because I want something that’s not really hot like the JB. Can I order SNS come with 4 conductor wiring?

What would be a good Single Coil size pickup for the SNS. I know some volume loss is going to occur, but I’d like to minimize that if I can. No it does not have to be noiseless.

Is there something else you could recommend for an HSH Floyd Strat that I should look at? I’m thinking more Skynryd than George Lynch if that helps.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the SNS set come as standard with 4-conductor wiring. I certainly think they'd be worth a try for the tones you're looking for. The Whole Lotta Humbucker set would be worth a look for something a little bit 'bitier'.

Thanks for that. I wonder who I should call Seymour Duncan to get a recommendation for the Single Coil style middle pickup.

Can't go wrong with an SSL-1 in the middle, or an SSL-2 if you prefer the flat staggered variety.

SSL-2, if you are using a more modern radius. Also, a Five Two is a great choice as well, and doesn't bark so much on the high strings.
