H-S-S wiring with toggle switches

Hello

I'm upgrading pickups in a guitar that has some existing switches I'd like to use.
Specs:
H-S-S Super Strat type setup
JB bridge p/u
Classic Stack® Plus Strat in Neck and Middle p/u
1 volume
1 tone
5-way blade
It also has 3 mini toggle switches that used to operate split and phase for each neck, middle and bridge for the old pickups. I want to change that.

I'm confused with the Stack Plus pickups and the 3-wire layout.

Is it possible to wire each toggle to do?:

1-split the humbucker
2-change the neck and middle from hum cancel to true single coil
3-add the neck pickup; in addition to the 5-way switch selection

Coil Split:

Hum cancel to true single:

Add Neck:

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

The Stack "Plus" models aren't exactly the same as the old stacks. Your option #1 and #2 will be the same thing. When you ground the red wire, you split, and make it a true single, simultaneously. They aren't separate modes. And yes, you can switch in the neck when using the bridge, or bridge / middle. When you do that, you probably don't want to ground the red wire, so they remain humbucking.

Thanks for the reply. I guess that is my main question: How do I ground it to True Single Coil? So, grounding the Red Wire to ground is all? The schematic had me confused because it showed only the middle pickup connected to the toggle. I don't know if I'll ever want true single coil anyway, but I have the guitar wired with the toggle so I figured I use them.

Thanks.

The 2nd link you posted shows grounding the red wire of all three. But the neck and bridge go by way of the 5-way, so that a single push-pull pot, (that only has two "sides"), can accommodate all three pups.

Thanks for the help.

I got everything wired up and it sounds great. Attached are a couple pics. This guitar is about 35 years old and has always had a 5-way and 3 mini toggle switches. Each toggle used to control series/split/parallel for each pickup. But now I've got
  • One toggle adding the neck to whatever 5-way is set.
  • The other toggle changes the neck/middle hum cancel to true single coil.
  • And the last toggle splits the Bridge humbucker (its a JB).
To be honest, I don't really need the toggle for hum cancel to true single coil. These sound great in the hum cancel setting.

Anyway, thanks. This is a nice combo of pickups and switching options.
