have a guitar h/s/s i have a custom custom for the bridge what would be good singles ?basswood body maple fretboard i play classic rock, country.use fractal axe 3

Do you like the neck and middle to be balanced in terms of volume with the bridge or do you prefer a drop?

Assuming you want TRUE single coils. I'm betting the Alnico 2 Pro single coils would be a good match for that, depending what you want. I personally would go for SSL5s but I like a pretty hot single coil.

CutsomCustom kinda needs a 500K pot IMO. Stronger stacks could be okay with that too, or you could use 470K resistor shunts for singles that are too harsh without the rolloff of a 250K.

Depends on what you want out of the singles. I love 2 STK-S4s.

Bingo. I've used the Custom Custom with them, a Whole Lotta Humbucker (neck), and currently have a Perpetual Burn with them. 500K volume, 250K tone. I run a 470K resistor from the 5-way to ground from each tab where the pickup connects.

Personally, I just go for 500k on any guitar that has any humbucker, so HSS gets 500k. Sounds good to my ears but I think it's something worth having a drawer full of and experimenting with if you're really into tone chasing

Resisters are cheap. You can buy a bag of a couple hundred of various values for just a couple bucks. Lets you do a lot of experimenting for just pennies a shot. I like the idea of using 500k pots and, if necessary, resistors for the singles. But the CC definitely needs a 500k.

I don't know a lot about singles, but I'd expect that the STK-S4s in neck and middle would suit you.

no drop what pot 250k or 500 k?i just saw this anyone use these.tb-5 custom,stk-s4m middle,neck stk-s7
I had a STK-S7 neck with 250k volume and tone pots in a Fender Strat and it was too dark and bassy for my taste. Moved it to the bridge and if was perfect. I have not try, but I would think a STK-S7 neck should be a good match for a humbucker bridge with 500k pots.
