It might have been me refering to the pickup set that came standard in my Monoco Super Pro: 14.4K Custom neck and 14.4K Custom Custom bridge. I feel that the Custom, at 14.4K, is just to hot of a pickup to use as a neck humbucker. It sounded fine at low volumes, but when I played my amps loudly the Custom just wasn't clear enough and chords got muddy. It's a fine bridge pickup but to hot for a neck pickup, IMO. I replaced it with a Seth Lover and in that particular guitar the Seth neck and Custom Custom bridge makes for the best sounding humbucker guitar I own...including my Les Paul with Tom Holmes humbuckers.
