Hamer Monico Elite

What are peoples thoughts on this guitar?? From what I've heard its quality control is amazing with each guitar being exceptionally good. I've also heard it beats Les Pauls at their own game. What are your guys views on these guitars?

first off every hamer guitar i've played has been amazing. i can't tell about the monaco but i know the 3 p90, semi-hollow version is amazing. sorry not much help otherwise. never met a hamer i haven't liked

That's what I hear also. I have no personal XP with them but I haven't heard ANYTHING bad about them. If you go used, even the price factor is elliminated!

I have never played the Monoco, but I have owned about 5 Hamers back in the day (sold some due to being an idiot in my youth) and still have a sweet Chaparral Elite with Sustainiac from '89. There is no better guitar manufacturer IMO, Parker would be up there with Hamer when it comes to quality. All of Hamer's instruments should be cherished - well worth the price.

I love my '81 Hamer Special.

I'm also GASsing for a Monaco Super Pro.

Keep in mind that the Monaco won't sound like a LP. The longer scale militats against that.

If you really want a guitar that sounds like a LP, you really just need to get a LP.

I haven't tried an Elite, but I'd have no qualms about getting one from what I've seen with my Newport and other Hamers.

Hamer began making Gibson style guitars when they started, so they have quite a bit of experience in that regard.

Keep in mind that the Monaco won't sound like a LP. The longer scale militats against that.

the Monaco Elite is short scale, the Monaco SuperPro is long scale

You will not be disappointed, IMNSHO, I have been a Hamer owner since '82. I dont own a Monoco but having been to a factory tour I can say that Hamers are one of two brands I would buy sight unseen. OK, I would have to speak to the seller a couple times just to get some in hand questions asked but you get the idea. Duncan pickups stock too.
