I've never really studied Hamer guitars, so if any of my information is wrong, please feel free to corect it.
I bought this one from a buddy, everything is suppossed to be all original., so it would have a JB bridge and a 59 neck. I beleive it is a 95 model. The SN# is 543142. It has the thick solid maple top rather than the thin on older Specials. Mahogany body and set mahogany neck with rosewood board and dot inlays.
The guitar plays like a dream and has no isuues. It is a very dark blue color and you can't see the flames in low light, but when light does hit it, it exlodes! This top is insane the amount of flame in it, definately a top quality instrument. The only two bad spots are on the bottom edge. there are 2 bumps through the finish that I have photo'd and they are about half the size of a dime or smaller. Unless you turn the guitar upside down, you never really see them. All other scratches are just swirls, which will polish out.
I checked G-Base and a couple other sites on pricing and looks like they are going from $700 to $900, with $850 being the average price I saw. A couple on CL for $700 and $750.
I'm thinking $650 shipped and insured anywhere in the CON.US with the original Hamer hardshell case, but I will listen to any reasonable offer. Only real trades I might be interested in are Marshall heads or possibly Gibson LP Studios.
