I've been playing on a 2008 epiphone g-400 that I was offered to trade for my 2003 hamer vector I really like the sound and feel of the SG but the vector is not without charm, thoughts?
I am more V than SG as far as body shape goes I am also more Hamer than Epi fans so I am biased toward the Vector. Also you know what you have with the Vector. You might get a week away from trade and be missing your old friend.
Epiphone SG copies are two a penny. (Sorry, blueman335!) The Hamer would be rather more difficult to replace.
I have modified several Hamer XT series guitars. I have kept two of them because they were too much fun to let them go. With American pickups and controls, this series of guitars is a pleasure to own.
It's really what you like better. Neither one is an investment, if that makes any sense, even if both play and sound like a million bucks. Pick the one that fits you.
