Hang tag.....What gives?

Been trying to sell a Bill Nash Relic Stratocaster and I have been contacted by several potential buyers. However, the fact that I don't have this cheap little hang tag seems to be a total deal breaker for them. Why? I could understand it if the guitar were a collectible Private Stock or Custom Shop job, but this is just a nice parts-o-caster that is used and meant to be played. Am I missing something here?

I dunno...
Is it expensive or rare? (I never heard of bill nash)
Or maybe they're just crazy, sometime ago I was selling a Jim Dunlop 535Q I had pics and I received messages asking me where was it made and if I had a way of proving it was US made.

eBay's Stratosphere sells those hand tags along with the Strat/Tele user manual, wipe cloth, allen keys, etc for about $5. a set. Perhaps they have one for that specific strat. You might want to check it out.

As to why, I dunno. I have kept those tags from the last Les Paul and Strat I bought though.

People are basically all scum that will try everything in their power to make you lower the price because people are all basically cheap bastards as well and ideally want something for nothing (not counting the fine folks here of course lol)

Its all just tactics to nitpick dumb little details to try to save some cash. Just like buying a car, if theres the slightest ding anywhere on the body (which will of course happen sooner or later to the owner as well) people try to get $500 knocked off the price because "they have to repair the dent" and BS like that when everyone knows darn well no one would fix or even notice something like that.

hang tags, "case candy" etc all are just the same thing

Re: Hang tag.....What gives?

odds are they want the tag to prove it's a real nash and to see the specs it came with, pickups, neck shape etc.

it's real easy to fake a nash since all they are are parts guitars with bodies and necks from companies like allparts and others.

does it have Bill's signature and a date on the back or the edge of the headstock? that's another way to tell it's real but that too can be faked.

I never thought of that but you may have a point. Make the seller try to lower the price because something (in this case the hang tag) that you'd get if you bought new from a store is missing.

Don't lower your price for the hang tag!!!!
