Happy Halloween from Ripper! (Monster Mash)

hey kids, whether you like it or not, its time for more Ripper!

Monster Mash

disc 2 of our double album, this one correspondingly titled "...And Business Is Good!" drops on Halloween and i figured i'd release this track early in case everybody is busy celebrating.

i thought this song deserved a bit of a hilariously metal rendition. halloween is my favorite time of the year, so i figured id spread the joy.

i do all guitars, bass, backing vox, and dracula vox on this. the main singer dude does the main vocals (makes sense, eh?). so, once again, i apologize for the vocals :laugh2: i really like em on this song though, theyre hilarious

anyhow, enjoy! ah-ah! (you'll get that last bit after you listen to the song)

ill upload the entire album at midnight. that way it still counts as being on halloween :laugh2:

Re: Happy Halloween from Ripper! (Monster Mash)

What are you playing through for the guitar tones?

Re: Happy Halloween from Ripper! (Monster Mash)

PODxt, 5150 model from the metal pack

i'm not all that satisfied with the sounds i get from it, but its a gajillion times easier than mic'ing a real amp so im not gonna complain. gets the job done. it also sounds way better than some of my earlier settings from years past, and definitely better than my old v-amp 2. so what im getting is good enough for now. hopefully itll improve when i throw a real OD pedal in front of it, rather than the XT modeled one

btw- both guitar tracks (L&R) on this song are done with my LTD alexi-600, with blackout neck model in the bridge.

Always liked that song! Dude, your music is fun! Fun is missing from ALOT of music these days..

Re: Happy Halloween from Ripper! (Monster Mash)

yeah, i agree. i dont think fun sells well though, so of course there wouldnt be much of it around then.

Re: Happy Halloween from Ripper! (Monster Mash)

its sad.. Fun USED to sell.. Monster mash WAS a hit.. The Streak.. I have a few records where they told a story with other song clips in them.. Jaws was one..

Anyhow, whether you hit paydirt or not, I appreciate what you are doing and the guitar sounds killer!

I do find the vocalist amusing, but if he does that same thing on everysong, that would be alil redundant.. mix it up..

nah, that was more the theme for this album, the "creepy british man" voice. in the past hes done just his regular voice, a scottish accent, king diamond, and william shatner impersonations, among other things that names dont even exist for.

and i'm sure we'll never make a dime. we'd probably need a real drummer and separate bass player for that :laugh2: even when we had tshirts made up a few years ago, i just sold em at cost. dont wanna **** over the kids. although i may put out a retrospective box set this winter, packaged inside a top hat. maybe ill make a few bucks off that
