i everyone, picked this up today. Can't find much info on it. I don't think it's super rare but I'm just trying to get an idea for what I have.

Re: Hard tail strat identify?

Fender offered american standard strats in a hardtail option back then I think.
I think it's just an am. std

Re: Hard tail strat identify?

Yeah they released hardtail strats as standard up until a few years ago. I have a 2006 hardtail strat, and it's by far my favourite guitar, the necks on those years of strats just feel so good. I find they miss some of the springiness of the normal trem strats, but they sound fantastic with humbuckers. (and they are actually routed for HSH, as long as you got one that isn't from too far back).

Re: Hard tail strat identify?

I flip guitars a lot. Is this one I should keep fur my self? I love the way it feel. And it is routed hsh, what's a good number value to put on it?

Re: Hard tail strat identify?

2002 Am Std. I once owned a hardtail Big Apple Stratocaster. Identical to the OP guitar except for its pickguard and electronics assembly.

My example lacked natural acoustic zing. I soon flipped it.

Re: Hard tail strat identify?

I cannot remember. I suspect that I part-exchanged it for another USA Fender.
