Both are digital and based on the demos I've heard, the two do a fantastic job in recreating that old spring reverb tank sound.

The Verbzilla has the '63 Spring option, while the newly released Hardwire (by Digitech) RV-7 has the Spring model.

I was just checking the RV-7 demo from proguitarshop.com and noticed that it emulates the clangky overtones of an old spring reverb. I find this really interesting, because even tough it's digital, it sounds musical and not cheesy at all (at least in my perspective).

I remember Lew, as an analog purist as he is, would stand for his Verbzilla, especially the 63' Spring model. I also heard a lot of people here who also like this 63' model. But I was just wandering if someone has already tried the new RV-7 and hopefully can compare the its Spring model to the Verbzilla's '63 model.

Anyway, here are the links of the two digital reverb stomp boxes from proguitarshop.com.

Re: Hardwire RV-7 vs. Line 6 Verbzilla

Dunno about the hardwire, but I own a verbzilla and a TC nova reverb, and have experience with holy grails.

All of them sound decent, but with my rig I was experiencing noise with the Holy Grails and Verbzilla. So I got the TC, and it works great with low noise, which is a real bonus if you play out in a lot of different venues with varying lighting and power quality. Expensive, but a real pro piece of kit. The buffer sounds great, too, compared to the verbzilla, and the knobs are more robust. A verbzilla would definitely not withstand a drunken singer's boot heel.
