Harness swap

Is it possible to swap the harness/chassis of Gibson pick-ups w/ the ones of Duncan's?

I would like to use the long legs of one of my Gibson Pick-up on one of my Duncan.

ive never tried swapping baseplates but it might work

I want to try scewing the pick-up directly to the guitar ['cause I have not tried yet] but the legs are too short ... the Gobson PAFs have longer legs ...

What do you guys do went you have a short leg Duncab you want to screw to your strat??
