Has anyone done the R28 MXR Phase 90 mod?

Evidently, if you remove or disconnect the resistor R28 in the new Phase 90 you get a mellower, less midrangey sound close to the early script model. Has anyone here personally done or know someone who's done the mod and were the results as stated?

EXACTLY as stated. Much more mellower. No hiss, hum, harsh frequencies. A lot smoother and it's just much more subtle now. I like the mod a lot and it takes virtually no time, it's a wonder why they didn't just start making them the way we mod them (no added resistors or circuits anywhere, just snip the R28 right off).

I'm very much under the impression that pedals are made by electrical engineers on paper and not by or voiced by,musicians....Some pedals that I see inside of,really make me scratch my head? I'm like WTF? :smack: :burnout:

I was checking out the EVH Phase 90 that's coming out and I think they put in a switch so you can get the old sound along with the modern. They probably heard so many people were doing the mod they acted on it. I think I'll save some bucks and just get one and do the mod. Thanks.
