Has anyone tried a Strat with two pickups in parallel in series with the third?

Has anyone tried this? I've seen it before but I've always thought it'd be too thick sounding. I'm thinking about using it in a future build.

So basically something like an HS guitar with both pickups on.

No, like an HS guitar with the bridge in parallel Then have that in parallel with the neck. I'll try and make a diagram later.
