Has anyone used a Dimebucker in a Les Paul?

Interesting Combo... Dimebucker with a Pearly gates. I don't know how it would sound in a les Paul though. We all know what it sounds like in a Dean or washburn. I'm still using my stock pups. And really leaning to Custom Custom/59

I think Robert S. has and that he liked it. I'll give this a little bump to the top so Robert doesn't miss it. Lew

I've never stuck a Dime in a LP but I have put them in several PRS guitars. I have no doubt that the Dime will sound killer in a LP. I still have one in my Conklin and I always get rave reviews on that guitars tone.

Re: Has anyone used a Dimebucker in a Les Paul?

I just put a Dimebucker in my 78 Les Paul Standard and it sounds great. I've had the following pickups in the bridge of this guitar:

Screamin Demon
Gibson 490T
Duncan Distortion
Duncan JB

They all have there place it's what type of music your into. Dimebucker kills for the modern sounds (excellent chunk) sounds like a pickup should for the Pantera Mosh tone. It's a very bright pickup with a fast attack. I personally love it. Overall a great pickup.

A close second would go to the Distortion. Not quite as bright but sounds awesome in the Paul. More 80's tone with this one.

Gibson 490T not my cup of tea not hot enough for the bridge for my liking.

Screamin Demon not too bad considering my favorite guitarist is Lynch. ANot enough punch for my liking in a Paul.

JB is a great pickup too but I prefer a ceramic magnet in the Bridge position.

I just need to get rid of the 490R in the neck. Need that Sykes lead tone above the 12h fret. Torn between the PG and Alnico II Pro?????

I have a CC/PG - just a notch up from the 59. I think that's an awesome combo. The PG is great in the paul neck! As for the Dime - don't know. But I'd like to hear from anyone who has tried it in the neck also.

Re: Has anyone used a Dimebucker in a Les Paul?

I`ll have to agree with that. The PG with the CC would sound amazing in a les paul style guitar. I had originally a 59/CC combo in mine, but i changed the 59 to a PG real fast, for the simple reason that i thought that the CC and 59 were to heavy in the bass tones, had good midrange because of the CC, but there was something missing with the treble. If you really want the CC, then i would say go for the PG.

As for the Dime in a LP, my friend just got one put in his LP, and let me tell you it sounds great. Goes really well with the PG from what i heard, but then again i didnt play it enough to give a really informed opinion ( although it seemed amazing from what i experienced).
