Have Seymour Duncan prices increased?

I was looking around to see what prices to ask for some pickups to sell and I was a bit surprised that most Seymour Duncans are in the $95 retail area regardless of their list prices. DiMarzios seem to be significantly cheaper.

Have Seymour Duncan prices increased lately or have they just been on a steady climb OR have they been this way for a while and I just didn't notice?

In Canada, many provinces have significant sales tax too so that can add a lot to the price of new ones.

UK retail prices seemed to jump up at the turn of the year. I originally put this down to the increase in UK purchase tax.

I only buy used nowadays and I've noticed - probably because I've sold some recently - that prices have been LOWER.

I don't think Duncan has raised published USA dealer, MAP or retail pricing for a couple years. I have been out of the loop for a couple months though so it might have jumped just recently.

Individual dealers can sell at whatever price they want as long as they are at or above MAP. Perhaps in a soft market dealers are having to charge more to get by since sales volume is lower. Of course, when times are tough discounting to get more volume is also a scenario so who knows?

I think the second scenario is the case more in the USA where there are tons of competing dealers. In Europe and Canada maybe it's more scenario number one since there are less competing dealers?
