Hawkbucker Character

I have long thought of building an LP bass, and it would be nice to maintain the classic LP aesthetic. With Seymour Duncan, that means the only option is Hawkbuckers. Has anyone out there used/heard these in a bass? If so, how would you describe them?

Hi. The Hawkbucker is something of a rare sighting. Your chances of getting a reply are about as good as mine of getting one about the old SD Active EQ Series bass pickups.
