HB 4X12: arrives

I got my Harley Benton 4x12 today and rearranged the amps and finally plugged in and was really impressed. I didn't think 4 speakers would sound that much different than 2 but it sounds a lot more focused on the low end and just more full overall and of course louder! The mark v sounds awesome going through the 4x12 on the lead channels today. Can't believe I waited so long to try a 4x12 I've been missing out...

I love 4x12's. I think it's common misconception from people to think they're just bigger in the bass than smaller cabs. They actually just have a deeper bass, meaning more of the good chunky lows and less of the stuffy/muddy lower mids. But not only that. The high-end is much more open and airy. They just open up to both ends of the frequency spectrum.

I have never tried a 1x12 that didn't sound mega dull in the highs compared to a 4x12 (equipped with similar speakers).

I'm one of those jackasses that's like 4x12 or death, LOL. They just plain sound better, IMO.

I do have a 1x12 to practice at home. But I really miss my 4x12 with Greenbacks that I left in Mexico. :(

It's nice to see there are Katana owners who also kept their tube amps. That's a nice wall of tone.

Rock on!

I also have a katana 110 bass amp that is absolutely fantastic amp for both recording and performance. So many different features and solid effects. I wish they would have made their guitar katana as badass as the bass katana but to be fair the bass katana came out after the guitar version. The reason I haven't bought a bass tube amp is because the bass katana 110 is so awesome I don't think anything else would compare in terms of versatility. It's a 60 watt amp with a 10" Speaker they also make a 160 watt version with two 10" speakers.
