HBD Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy)

ginormous

He would have been 64 today (the 20th).

and, of course... (live in 1983)

Re: HBD Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy)

Easily the most overlooked band ever, who produced a great bunch of durable, straight produced tunes. Sort of the missing link between Springsteen & Maiden, ... I HIGHLY recommend the Live & Dangerous DVD.

For anyone that isn't so much into their hard rock stuff (or is and wants to delve further) the Self-Titled and Vagabonds of the Western World are great albums.

Re: HBD Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy)

Every era Lizzy had greatness in spades. I love Phil, I remember exactly where I was when I found out he died. Bah what a waste, it drives me nuts when I think about it. He was everything a Rock Star should be and unfortunately a couple of things they shouldn't and it killed him.

Great player, great singer, great songwriter and a great band leader. He was the whole package.

This is from the Toronto Lizzy Fest a few years ago, Danko is a huge fan.

Check out the Black Star Riders if you are a Lizzy fan, you won't be disappointed
