So.... I am buying a Vox Valvetronix and want a good set of headphones to go along with it for playin around. I am in an apartment now for acouple more months they are assholes about noise here. I dont want to spend more than 50 bucks.

Suggestions, I really dont want to spend more than 20 but I am a cheap ass

Re: Headphones

yeah i generally use my akg k240's cuz they are comfortable but i have a couple of sets of under $30 sonys that fold up nice and small and sound pretty good and are louder than the akg's... i tend to use them while recording gtr in small spaces as the akg's bleed too much.

Re: Headphones

I'll also second a recommendation for Sony headphones. They make quite a few so you should be able to find 1 within your price range... I'd go to the store and check 'em out before you buy. Some headphones have a cheap, flimsy, plastic feel to 'em like they're just about to break...

Re: Headphones

For that price range, Jeff is correct. I bought a set of PX-100s (Sennheiser, BTW) based on his recommendation. I have NO regrets. For some reason the white ones tend to be a couple of $$ cheaper.

Re: Headphones

i took vk's word(among others) a while back and definately give a big +1 to the px-100s. the only con i can think of is the cord is kinda short, so you got to be close to what you're using them with.

Re: Headphones

Sony and Sennheiser are really popular with DJs because of their build quality and frequency response. I have some Pioneers which aren't built the best, but they are incredibly powerful.
