Phew! What an exhaustive effort. For anyone who thinks you can just slap together a Warmoth..I got news for you! I mean maybe you can, but not one like this;

Ya know what? Photobucket SUCKS. They dont allow links anymore, and the only way I could post this guitar is in an slideshopw with snadwiches included//WTF???..

EDIT---well, no slideshow. Pics

Pfft, what stupid looking guitar, I'd NEVER want something like that!

*secretly sobs in jealousy*

Damn dude that is one CLASSY looking Strat! The flame on the neck is ridiculous, is it baked too?

I love how the quilt maple grain is the perfect blend of strong and subtle, and looks just perfect with that sunburst finish. You need to upload some sound clips or videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then you gotta kill me with those sandwich pictures?! You're all kinds of evil

Specs. Warmoth 4.12 pound Alder Body, Flame Maple cosmetic cap. Transparent back. Looks like 3 piece body.
5A Flame Koa neck with Ziricote fretbaord. 6150 fret size. Only thing I hate is it's wizard thin neck.
I did a pretty good job for me with the wiring. I bought the harness. It's got some kind of special wiring that allows fr some kind of tone control on the bridge or something..I forgot, but t's a quality harness.
Callaham Trem. W#ilkinson tuners which are great quality , and real easy to string up, function like staggered lockers and hold tune great, but are an unreal pain to take the strings off.

Callaham steel neckplate-only way to go. I boguht an expensive Ti neckplate and it bent real bad- don't waste your money!

The body was copper shileded but I didn't bother grounding it( it has an aluminum control plate ground shield) cause my aerospace engineer tech told me that body shielding is completely ineffective.

WELL< back to the drawing board. I want to thank some of the people here ( even a mod) for giving me crap advice on how to disconnect the treble bleed. I have a very weak signal now....tHANKS A DUMP LOAD!!.

Wait, I just snipped one side, do I need to snip BOTH sides??? BASTAGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(you guys are as useless as **** on a boar hog :D)

Do you know what it was causing the low output? It wasn't the treble bleed. The guys advice was right on. I was so flustered after all the time and energy I had devoted to it , and it not working right when i thought it was finally done , I acted immaturely wanting to blame someone.

Well, it was the stupid shielding on the bod cavity that was touching the input jack! Well,i tried like heck but no matter what I did the input jack shorted out, so I had to do a stop-gap and slather it ( input jack cavity) in electrical tape. I think they make electrical tape paint I can try later.

The guitar sounds very good. It stays in tune and intonates properly . It doesn't play as well as I thought it might, that is, the action doesn't get as low as I need it to; needs A good fret level. I initially thought I might assemble this to try and sell or trade, and I just might do that.

Your expectations are huge man. Just relax and let the guitar talk.

Re: Heavens to Betsy! "Murgatroid" is finally done! Slideshow

Not my kind of guitar (strat) but man does it look awesome! Nicely done!

Re: Heavens to Betsy! "Murgatroid" is finally done! Slideshow

That sure does look magnificent Jer. I would let it settle and then re-adjust before taking it anywhere..... looks damn fine though.

Re: Heavens to Betsy! "Murgatroid" is finally done! Slideshow

Looks great, I forgot what pickups you chose?

And what's going on with Photobucket now? Time to switch to Imgur?

Re: Heavens to Betsy! "Murgatroid" is finally done! Slideshow

Put some tape over the legs of your tone capacitors
Make sure they are touching anything

That would make your signal weak

Re: Heavens to Betsy! "Murgatroid" is finally done! Slideshow

I NEVER shield the cutout area for the jack. Made that mistake ONCE. And your aerospace engineering friend may be right in that single coils are going to hum regardless. I've also never bothered to shield a strat type guitar. Mainly because I don't often own many and the two that I do own now are quiet enough aside from the expected single coil hum. But, that doesn't make cavity shielding ineffective. I'm sure he has some electrical theory on why it doesn't work. Despite that, it works ... depending on the type of interference. I should have recorded before and afters of the last two guitars that I shielded. Both humbucker equipped and both hum/buzzing like mad before shielding. Both quiet afterward. Just a suggestion ... if you want to try and take advantage of the shielding without soldering a wire. You can try some copper tape with conductive adhesive. Use it like a "strap" to connect the shielded cavity to the shielded area of the pickguard where the pots are located. Just run it up the cavity side wall and up over the lip where a screw hole is located. Not ideal, but it should electrically connect the cavity shielding to the pickguard shielding. It cant hurt anyway.

Besides all that I like the guitar. Very, nice. And the neck and headstock look great. Take a deep breath, I'm sure you'll figure out the electrical blip.

Re: Heavens to Betsy! "Murgatroid" is finally done! Slideshow

Just to tag on, shielding reduces RF noise and interference. Depending on your environment, you may not have huge issues with it. Ungrounded/improperly grounded shielding can act as an antenna making it worse.

That neck! Let's get more pics of that! And I can't hear it! What does it sound like?
