HELP! ADA MB1 preamp broken

I have an ADA MB1 bass preamp with a switching system on the front panel that broke. It worked pretty well for a while but the foil switch stopped working (the switch is built like the ones in them wimpy TV remorte controllers - oogh the '80s, what a stoopid design >:( ) so it freezes the MIDI brain of the preamp. An another surprise that the switch is integrated to the front panel so I have to change the whole front panel - because of one broken switch. Grmph.

The preamp does have tone it beats many contemporary wannabees so I would like to get it repaired. There is an option that it will be modified to normal mechanical switches - but it would look goofy. I would prefer an original replacement front panel instead.

The problem is, I just got an e-mail from the ADA man in charge that there is no replacement for that :(

So, I would like to ask you to tell me if you know a man who has one or a place where I can find one.

Thank you in advance

Miki

Years ago I always wanted one of those. Have you had a long time or did you buy it used? I'd still like to have one. I may just have to look around on Ebay.

Guys, really thanks for the tips. I will try both ways.

JOLLY: My friend is a studiobuddy and he bought it used, we borrowed from him. He bought a fitting ADA bi-amp for that. It is a rather killer sounding combination with extreme clarity and definition. It can simulate the great majority of the coolest bass tones pretty well but it is great for its own right, too. With a superb bass cab it would be unbeatable but as I noticed there are some aged components that worn out in a decade. The power amp burned down in December but it was easy to fix: there is no computer in it, it's just a simple traditional amp but the integrated foil switch board of the MB1 is an extremely bad idea. You must change the whole front panel if one of the 20 or so switches break. Really bad solution. So, if you get one you can suspect pretty good tones and some probability that something can break and not easy to get repaired.
