I had that problem with my Triamp today when I was jamming with a band (I might be joining them, bunch of old high school friends). I was cranking it so loud that the input jack started to come loose and I guess it was causing contact problems. From what I played at low levels at home, it went away. I'll have to check for sure tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure it's just because of a loose jack somewhere, so you may have to check that out.

Hmmm... could be. Perhaps my loose jack wasn't the only reason why I had a little bit of a problem (I was running all my power through a heavily used surge protector).

Yeah mrid....give us a little more info. Does it do it all the time, or is it just situational? When I got my JCM800 from UPS, it had a broken tube from shipping, but also a static/crackle type of problem, along with power drop issues. Turned out to be some solder joints that had vibrated loose during shipping. The tech said he had seen that issue fairly often on amps that were sent thru the mail. Even a well packed amp can get some pretty good jolts from the monkeys in brown.
