Hi Freaks \m/
I finally have decided to install Bare Knuckle Pickups into my Gibson Explorer 76 reissue that will be the ultimate heavy axe after some customizing... (sanded neck, put on oil and wax finish, slick like a babes butt... abalone pickguard etc.) gonna post fotos when it's done...
As I'm quite into heavy playing (death/trash) I manly used ceramiks or EMG 81 in the past. But when I selfbuilt my first les paul (yeah post fotos too) I decided to take the konservative path and installed alnico Vs... Jazz/JB and I'm more and more impressed by the JB. In the beginning i though it wouldn't give me enough distortion, when I used my regular settings, that I played with my gibson 500T, but as I'm using a Diezel Herbert I had enough reserve, and I learned to love the punch and the agility of the JB. Now when i had a short chat with Tim of Bare Knuckles and described my aim and view of sound he told me that the miracle man might be the best for me, on the other hand, as I said I like the alnico V typical features more and more, so I wonder whether I shouldn't choose warpigs instead and make a new experience...
At least there are three possibilities... Warpigs, miracle mans or nailbombs???
So I ask, has anyone tested them and can make a report? What's your experience, what's your advice? :crying:
as far as I'm concerned I'm more with the Warpigs, I mean they MUST be suitable Pickups for my sound (death/trash)... my only fear is that a ceramic might have a more correctional bass, which I need. But why not risk an experiment in alnico V...? thanks for help
